Selenium is an essential trace mineral that is required for many important biochemical functions in the body. In humans, selenium functions as a coenzyme for the antioxidant enzyme glutathione peroxidase. Glutathione peroxidase helps neutralize harmful peroxide free radicals. Selenium also plays an important role in the production of thyroid hormones. Selenium is a coenzyme for the enzymes which are responsible for the synthesis of thyroid hormones. These enzymes are important for the regulation of basal metabolic rate (resting metabolic rate-rate at which you burn calories). Studies show Selen Excell® helps support the body’s antioxidant defenses and contributes to the growth of normal, healthy cells.†

Features
Provides 200mcg of selenium.
Natural form of selenium in 100% organically bound form. Yeast converts inorganic (low bioavailability) forms of selenium into organic (high bioavailability) forms.
SelenoExcell® provides a full composition of seleno compounds including selenomethionine and selenocysteine.
FDA has approved health claims for selenium that indicate it may be helpful in preventing certain cancers.
SelenoExcell® has been selected as the sole intervention agent in a series of cancer prevention (colon, lung, and prostate) and health-related studies.
Based on a Clinical Trial Agreement with The National Cancer Institute, leading research teams have selected SelenoExcell® based on its certification as 100% organically bound selenium and strictly controlled quality and production parameters.

Benefits
Provides a well-absorbed, highly bioavailable form of this important trace mineral.
Studies show selenium works synergistically with vitamin E to provide antioxidant support helping protect healthy cells, particularly red blood cells from free radical damage.†
The broad composition of seleno compounds increases the absorption and bioavailability.
Selenium helps support the functioning of the powerful antioxidant enzyme glutathione peroxidase (GPX). GPX helps neutralize damaging peroxide radicals, which can potentially cause damage to healthy cells and their DNA.†
Studies show a high intake of selenium helps support a healthy prostate by promoting normal, healthy prostate cell growth.†
Adequate intake of selenium helps support normal, healthy thyroid function and a healthy metabolism.†
Some scientific evidence suggests that consumption of selenium may reduce the risk of certain forms of cancer.†

Chromium is a trace mineral that helps potentiate insulin function, therefore helps support carbohydrate, fat, and protein metabolism. Several studies have shown that chromium helps support glucose levels already in the normal range, in individuals with impaired glucose tolerance. The mechanisms by which chromium works are not completely understood. We know from animal and human studies that when given a chromium deficient diet, we see abnormal glucose metabolism, increased blood glucose, and impaired insulin function. Chromium in the form of chromium picolinate is chromium bound to (chelated to) picolinic acid, a compound that seems to enhance the absorption of chromium which is typically poorly absorbed. Chromium picolinate has been shown to be better absorbed and more bioavailable than chromium chloride, but slightly less than chromium polynicotinate.†

Features
Chromium bound to (chelated to) picolinic acid.
Clinical studies on safety and efficacy.
200mcg per capsule.

Benefits
Studies show chromium picolinate is better absorbed than chromium chloride (non-chelated).†
Research studies show chromium picolinate helps support blood glucose and cholesterol levels already in the normal range.†
Beneficial to individuals who consume mostly refined foods and or have impaired glucose tolerance.†
Some studies, however, not strong, show chromium picolinate may help support lean body mass and reduce body fat.†

CoQ10 is an important component in the energy producing system of the body. It is found in mitochondria, subcellular structures responsible for generating about 95% of the total energy needed
by the human body. CoQ10 is the enzyme that makes this engine work. Its antioxidant activity protects cell membranes, proteins, and DNA from oxidative damage caused by free radicals.
CoQ10 as ubiquinone is a fat soluble nutrient. In order for a fat soluble nutrient to be absorbed, fat must be present. Experts highly recommend that it be taken with other fat soluble nutrients (e.g., vitamin E, lecithin, borage oil, evening primrose oil, EPA, flax seed oil, etc.) and/or with a meal that contains a small amount of fat. Fat free meals significantly decrease absorption of ubiquinone.

Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) is a part of coenzymes that are involved in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins. ALA, called the “universal antioxidant”, is soluble in both water and fat, therefore is able to work in various parts of the body. As an antioxidant, it is able to scavenge a variety of free radicals including the highly reactive hydroxyl radical and singlet oxygen. ALA has the ability to extend the activity of vitamin C and vitamin E, as well as regenerate the powerful antioxidants CoQ10 and glutathione. Studies show ALA is a powerful antioxidant that can help protect healthy cell function. Scientific studies show Alpha Lipoic Acid helps support glucose metabolism, as well as normal, healthy liver function.†

Magnesium garners less attention than many other minerals but may be one of the body’s most important essential nutrients. While many nutrients are vital to a few biological processes, magnesium is essential for hundreds of them. It is critical for foundational processes such as carbohydrate and protein synthesis, the movement of other minerals across cell membranes, cellular energy production, synthesis of RDA and DNA, nerve impulse contraction, muscle contraction, the regulation of blood pressure, maintenance of normal heart rhythm, to name a few. Although it is present in many fresh, unprocessed foods, magnesium is lacking in highly-processed foods that make up the majority of the diets of people all over the world. In the absence of a healthy diet, dietary supplementation with magnesium may be advisable to ensure one’s proper health. Magnesium glycinate is highly absorbable and bioavailable and is one of the most efficient ways of adding magnesium to the diet.

Features
Superior Absorption & Bioavailability. Chelation with glycine changes local pH and significantly enhances absorption. Magnesium glycinate is not dependent on gastric acid for absorption.
400 mg of Magnesium per serving.
Vegan/Vegetarian.
Gluten, Soy, and DairyFree.

Benefits
In the decades-long Framingham Heart Study, higher magnesium levels were associated with a significantly lower chance of calcification of coronary and abdominal arteries.†
Higher intake of magnesium is associated with a reduction in the occurrence of arrhythmia. Magnesium is also used as a clinical intervention in certain types of ventricular arrhythmias.†
National Institutes of Health issued findings that higher magnesium levels in the blood are strongly associated with a lower risk of cardiovascular disease.†
Magnesium helps the body respond quickly to stress, and helps give the body a deep sense of relaxation.†
Magnesium is critical for the relaxation of the smooth muscles, including those found in blood vessels.†
Higher magnesium intake is associated with a lower risk of atherosclerosis.†
Reductions in magnesium levels have been linked to increased levels of anxiety.†
Magnesium is essential for maintaining normal, healthy blood pressure.†
Magnesium a cofactor in hundreds of enzymatic processes, including the activities of hormones, neurotransmitters, and other cellular regulators.†
Magnesium is required for certain processes involving ATP, DNA, and RNA.
