L-Tyrosine is one of the amino acids, which are the building blocks of protein. It is part of the chemical reactions in your body that create the neurotransmitter dopamine and other hormones. The body makes tyrosine from another amino acid called phenylalanine. Tyrosine can also be found in dairy products, meats, fish, eggs, nuts, beans, oats, and wheat. Tyrosine is essential for several important biochemical/ physiological functions related to thyroid, brain, and skin health. Our L-Tyrosine is in the free form and includes the synergistic benefits of vitamin B6.

Features
Provides 500 mg L-tyrosine per serving.
Easy to swallow capsule.
Includes vitamin B6 which is required for tyrosine synthesis.
Gluten-free

Benefits
Tyrosine is required for the synthesis of the neurotransmitters dopamine, epinephrine, and norepinephrine; all of which play a significant role in normal, healthy nervous system function.†
Tyrosine serves as a precursor to the skin, eye, and hair pigment melanin. Melanocytes convert tyrosine into melanin.†
PKU (phenylketonuria) is a genetic disorder where phenylalanine cannot be metabolized, causing it to build up. This typically causes damage to the central nervous system. In these individuals, tyrosine becomes a conditionally-essential amino acid that needs to be consumed in the diet.†
The body uses tyrosine to make thyroxine, a thyroid hormone. Thyroid hormones are made up mostly of tyrosine with iodine molecules attached to it. Thyroid hormones help control the body’s metabolic processes.†

Papaya is a natural plant source that contains a combination of proteolytic enzymes that have been shown to support a healthy inflammatory response.† It is believed to work by supporting a healthy balance of pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory prostaglandins.† Papaya provides Papain, a proteolytic enzyme that helps digest protein in foods. This formula contains alpha-amylase which is a group of starch-digesting enzymes.

Features
Papain enzyme from Papaya (Caria Papaya melon) 15mg
Alpha-amylase enzyme 2mg
Protease enzyme 2mg
Vegetarian and does not contain salt, yeast, wheat, gluten, or soy

Benefits
Papain is used for pain and swelling (inflammation) as well as fluid retention following trauma and surgery.
Has a mild soothing effect on the stomach, which may help treat ulcers.†
It is used to treat shingles (herpes zoster) symptoms, ongoing diarrhea, hay fever, runny nose, and a skin condition called psoriasis.†
Other conditions papain has been considered for include arthritis, food allergies, and some autoimmune diseases.

Bromelain is obtained from the lower stems of the pineapple plant. It contains a combination of proteolytic enzymes that have been shown to support a healthy inflammatory response.† It is believed to work by supporting a healthy balance of proinflammatory and anti-inflammatory prostaglandins.† Bromelain is also effective at breaking down large proteins (proteolytic activity) that, when absorbed intact and travel through the bloodstream, may cause an allergic response by the body. Some clinical evidence also demonstrates bromelain’s ability to help support a normal rather than excess production of mucus along the respiratory tract.†

Features
New higher potency, 2400 GDU per gram, providing 960 GDU per capsule.
GDU stands for Gelatin Digestion Units. This is one standard measurement for digesting protein.
Research indicates bromelain remains intact (instead of being broken down in the digestive tract) and therefore available for use throughout the body via the bloodstream.
Vegetarian.

Benefits
Proteolytic enzyme (protein digestion) from pineapple.†
Supports a normal, healthy inflammatory response.†
Some studies have shown bromelain helps support a healthy inflammatory response in damaged tissue.†
Bromelain has been shown to help break down potential allergens (proteins) before they are absorbed in the intestinal tract and into the bloodstream, potentially causing an allergic reaction.†
Bromelain has been shown to help support normal platelet aggregation (blood clotting). This can help provide support for the cardiovascular system.†

Incomplete or partial digestion of foods can lead to uncomfortable side effects, and contribute to nutrient deficiencies. Symptoms such as intestinal gas, bloating, cramping, and heartburn are obvious, but poor absorption of nutrients can go unnoticed. Superzymes is a multi-enzyme formula containing both animal and plant-derived enzymes, designed to support normal, healthy digestion of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates.†

Features
Contains betaine HCL, a form of hydrochloric acid.
Provides pepsin, bromelain and papain to help support protein digestion.
Ox bile extract helps to emulsify fat, preparing it for digestion.
Pancreatin is a combination of digestive enzymes that help to break down proteins, fats, and carbohydrates.

Benefits
Betaine HCL is a mild form of hydrochloric acid which helps to support the digestive process, particularly the beginning of protein digestion before food moves on to the intestines.†
Betaine HCL helps eliminate potential pathogens found in foods and beverages.
Aging and medications such as antacids can reduce the production and effectiveness of HCL, which may exacerbate digestive problems and other essential nutrients.
HCL is especially important for the absorption of many nutrients including calcium, folic acid, B12, and iron.
Besides nutrient deficiency, a reduction in HCL can slow down the digestive process, resulting in food remaining in the stomach for a longer period of time, often leading to digestive discomfort.
Pepsin is an enzyme that begins the process of protein digestion in the stomach.
This proteolytic enzyme is designed to function in an environment where there are a low pH and high acid content, such as the stomach.†
Bromelain is derived from pineapple, and is a proteolytic enzyme which helps break down protein.†
Papain is derived from papaya and provides an array of proteolytic enzymes to support protein digestion.
Ox bile extract helps to emulsify fat, which prepares it for digestion by fat-digesting enzymes (lipases).†
Pancreatin contains amylase for carbohydrate digestion, protease for protein digestion, and lipase for fat digestion. The combination of these digestive enzymes in pancreatin has been shown to provide significant support to the digestion and absorption of essential nutrients.

The digestion of food involves a complex system of organs, hormones, and enzymes. Many people have difficulty digesting foods, particularly as they age. The incomplete or partial digestion of foods can lead to uncomfortable side effects. Many of the indications are quite clear; intestinal gas, bloating, cramping, heartburn, and diarrhea. However, some effects are not as clear, such as the poor utilization of food, and even nutrient deficiencies. Ultra Veggie Enzymes is a comprehensive enzyme formula targeting the complete digestion of foods and their components, such as proteins, carbohydrates, sugars, starches, fibers, fats, and even hard-to-digest foods such as dairy products, grains, and legumes.†

Features
All 15 enzymes in the formula are derived from non-animal sources.
Formulated with enzymes that are active even in the low pH (acid content) of the stomach.
Three types of protease enzymes are active at pH levels of 6.0, 4.5, and 3.0.
Made from patented and trademarked nzimes™ enzymes, manufactured by National Enzyme Company®.
Vegetarian.

Benefits
Ultra Veggie Enzymes promotes healthy digestion.†
High potency of proteases helps ensure the complete digestion of proteins throughout the digestive tract, which creates greater protein and amino acid bioavailability.†
Many of these enzymes enable a thorough and complete breakdown of a broad array of carbohydrates. This helps the body utilize food, and helps to reduce gas and bloating caused by undigested fibers, starches, and sugars.†
Amylase, malt diastase and glucoamylase aid the digestion of starches such as pasta and potatoes.†
Lactase, invertase, and alpha-galactosidase help to digest table sugar and the sugars in vegetables, whole grains, and legumes.†
Cellulase and CereCalase™ help to break down the cell walls of grains, fruits, and vegetables.†
Lipase enzyme is included to help with the digestion of fats (lipids).†
