N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) is a source of the amino acid cysteine. The body is capable of making limited quantities of cysteine, which is used to manufacture the body’s most powerful naturally made antioxidant, glutathione. Glutathione is an important component of antioxidant enzymes, as well as an essential component of the liver’s detoxification processes. NAC has been shown to be more efficient at supporting higher glutathione levels than supplemental glutathione itself. NAC helps protect the liver from the potentially harmful effects of free radicals which are generated during metabolism, found in our environment, and those derived from the metabolism of alcohol and certain medications. Selenium and molybdenum are included as essential cofactors.

Contains synergistic ingredients that help support normal, healthy liver detoxification and provide antioxidant protection.†
600mg of NAC.
Includes cofactors selenium and molybdenum.
Vegetarian capsule.
Gluten-free.

Benefits
N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) serves as a source of cysteine required for the liver’s synthesis of glutathione. Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant that helps neutralize free radicals produced during the first phase of liver detoxification.†
Glutathione is also needed during phase 2 liver detoxification. In this phase, various chemical intermediates produced in phase 1 are chemically bound to specific amino acids and then prepared for excretion via the kidneys (urine). If there is inadequate glutathione, toxic chemicals can accumulate causing liver damage and damage to healthy cells.†
NAC has been shown in studies to help protect the liver from the damaging effects of drug and or alcohol toxicity.†
Selenium is an important cofactor for the production of glutathione peroxidase, an enzyme made in the liver that helps neutralize toxic free radicals.†
Molybdenum is an essential cofactor for the phase 2 detoxification process known as sulfation. This process, through the use of sulfur-containing compound such as glutathione, taurine, and SAMe, helps to detoxify sulfur-containing chemicals found in food additives, drugs, and the environment, all of which can be potentially harmful to the body.†

For several decades, anthocyanoside-rich standardized extracts from bilberry (often standardized at 25%) have been studied for their potential health effects on various vision, microcirculation, and vascular-related conditions.† Bilberry extract reduces capillary fragility reducing vessel overgrowth through its ability to inhibit the growth of new blood vessels.† This appears to be a unique property of bilberry compared to most other anthocyanoside-containing fruit-derived extracts. Studies show that bilberry’s anthocyanins promote human health by fortifying blood vessel walls. This helps improve blood flow to the tiny blood vessels that keep eyes healthy, as well as to larger blood vessels that help maintain optimal circulation throughout the body.† Furthermore, these phytochemicals strengthen collagen, an essential component of the structure of skin, bone, cartilage, and other connective tissues.† Red grape skin extract provides an added supply of anthocyanidins, and along with citrus bioflavonoid complex, helps support the integrity of collagen-containing structures.†

Cranberry juice has a long history of use to help support urinary tract health.† The exact mechanism is unknown, but some researchers believe that cranberry has the ability to lower the pH of the urine (making it more acidic), which may provide support to the lining of the urinary tract.† There is some active ingredient in cranberry that is responsible for this mechanism of action. The Cran-Max® brand of cranberry concentrate is manufactured through a proprietary process that intensifies the natural benefits of the whole cranberry, without the use of any solvents, preservatives, sugars, artificial colors, or flavors. The fact that the active ingredient responsible for its health-promoting properties has yet to be identified, using the whole cranberry with all of the natural bioactive compounds is essential.
